Breakout Blues - How the Smart Money Plays the Game

Here's today's action on a 3 minute chart. Let us focus on the breakout and what happens after that. For that, we need to zoom into the breakout zone:

The breakout happened on good volume so you buy it. The breakout is doing fine, drops back a bit but goes up again. So you think all is well? No! Look at the shooting stars with high volume. Stop and think! Why prices did not close at their highs? Because smart money was offloading! Afterwards, prices start to tank and buyers who bought the breakout start getting nervous and start selling. This results in a kinda chain reaction attracting more sellers and finally prices break below the breakout point triggering all buy stops.
